UK : Parcel2go.com
I have to say thank you to whoever suggested that I try using Parcel2go.com
It is sort of a UK price-comparison website for parcel collection & delivery. It has significantly simplified buying "collection only" goods on eBay for me. Damn you can get some good deals on "collection only" retro stuff as most normal ebay users will pass. All the buyer has to do is input the approx weight & dimensions of the item(s) being sent to get a quote; pay via PayPal, credit or debit cards. You can select AM or PM for collection times (approx 4hr window). All the vendor need do is print out the coversheet you email them and stick it to the box containing the item(s). Both the vendor and the buyer can get email and sms reports at every stage of collection and delivery (full optional configuration) and they will even phone the vendor prior to collection to make sure they will be in. I only used it twice, both times using a different postal company both times excellent service. |

We used them years ago- they are only as good as the couriers they use. When things go wrong, they are not that helpful we found.

Of course, they are little more than a price comparison website.
£6.49+VAT for a 25Kg package 60cm x 60cm x 40cm collected and delivered including 4x SMS text messages and £50 insurance! That is cheaper than anything I've ever known. |

Parcel2go.com has some great prices but I also agree with what Amigakit.com said....They are good until something goes wrong! Their customer support is almost non-existent and by far the worst i have ever encountered! I've had a couple of items damaged and 1 item lost due to some of the hopeless courier guys they use (tweedledum and tweedledee cannot read the words "FRAGILE" or "THIS WAY UP").
When you contact Parcel2go.com over the phone you will be greeted by what sounds like a 15 year old female "chav" who could not give a rats arse and cannot be bothered to do the simplest of tasks! Instead i end up dealing with DHL directly to sort out any issues. Last edited by PowerPie5000; 09 October 2009 at 02:26. |
