Furia A600 piggy-back query...
Does anyone know whether the Furia expects/requires the A600's original 68000 CPU to be in place in order to operate?
Obviously under normal circumstances, in purely mechanical terms, the original 68000 needs to be in place so the Furia can latch onto it. But (bear with me), assuming you removed the original 68000 from the motherboard completely and had a means to connect the Furia directly to the motherboard CPU solder pads instead, would the Furia be any the wiser? I suppose this is a question generally about the CPU piggy-back technique employed by all A600 accelerators, ie: does the actual CPU override process require the original CPU to be present? Or is the original CPU completely dormant throughout? |
