Tower Assault is the best to me, however the game has BUGS which are annoying....

Alien Breed/SE. Never liked any of the other games in the series.

Tower Assault for me, although I did not play it in the Amiga. It's still quite hard but it throws less unfair situations at you.
I have a special place in my heart for the SE demo disc that came with Amiga Action though, I played that one level so many times together with my brother |

Earlier this year my eldest son and I were having great fun with Tower Assault so my gut instinct is to go with that. The first iteration of Alien Breed was great and I think the sequels were all worthy offerings.
I still think it would have been good to see a more power-up based option or version, almost like a top down Turrican. |

I never played the later ones when I was younger so I am very biased towards SE 92.
I should give them all a proper go really. |

The SE had all-new level designs. And typical Team 17, they pitched the difficulty level too high in the original so the SE is much more balanced and more fun.
They spoilt that a bit with AB 2 - my first experience was getting frustrating at the random meteor strike. I don't think anybody really likes that kind of unfair game mechanic that relies on luck as much as skill. |

AB SE for me
The later ones look much better, but i think are 2 frustrating, TA is just plain annoying on the starting area, im lucky to even get into a base, i think if T17 had left out the respawning enemies in most of them it would have much more enjoyable. Back in the day i thought Team 17 were great developers, now i consider them average, with most of there games frustrating or just plain to hard. |

Thanks guys I'have played so much AB that all games have become mixed in my mind. Except TA, that one is rather distinct.
