Feed ADFs to Gotek from PC
Hello Amiga folks!
Is anyone aware of any option to somehow connect an installed Gotek to a PC and update ADFs without having to remove USB-key, put it on PC, copy the file, put it back on Gotek, repeat? Any solution could be useful, maybe a USB cable? or some wireless USB stick? I don't know I need this for development purposes. Thanks |

I have a wifi SD card and an SD card Gotek, so my experience is limited to that.
I could only find two kinds of wifi cards that weren't limited to being used with specific phone apps. One is no longer made and goes for hundreds on ebay, so I have the other one. In theory it's fine. You put your wifi credentials in a text file on it and plug it in, and it presents a WebDAV server so you can drag files to it from Windows, or even automate uploads, which was my intention, so I could cross compile but run natively. It will also act as a USB storage device if you plug it in that way. I don't think it does both at the same time though. In practice I haven't made it work, and I've put the real floppy drive back. The only tip I have is that I've worked out that it needs a good seperate 5V supply to work properly, at least in my tests. SD cards are a low level block and sector find of thing, so I'm not sure if it can work in a shared set up with things being read while something else is writing to them. As I understand it USB drives are not like this, and have more smarts in them. This may make a USB based system a better choice, but I haven't looked into that. |
