Catweasel Mk4 on 32-bit XP
Got the Amiga bug this weekend, pulled together a P4 machine from spare parts and dug out the Catweasel Mk4.
Installed the CW, using only the black connector to a dedicated floppy drive (I am not using the onboard floppy controller, which is disabled in BIOS). I was able to install the latest CW drivers. I can see all the various devices in Device Manager (including "floppy on catweasel"), but no A: drive shows up on my computer. Putting a disk in does nothing (drive does not spin up & try to read). I've verified the drive works independently of the CW. What am I doing wrong here? |

Disk drives on the Catweasel can only be accessed by the ImageTool program or by WinUAE. There will never be a drive letter for a floppy drive on the Catweasel.

Thanks, Thomas! I lost the original box/cables/manual for CW, and was only able to find a "quick install" PDF online to help me.

Hi thughes, and welcome to EAB!
The full manual for the Catweasel MkIV is available in PDF here: http://siliconsonic.de/t/catweasel-usermanual.pdf |

Thanks, prowler!
I've got everything up and running now, working via XP and WinUAE (AmigaForever). I finally found the original box & accessories for the Catweasel. They were in the box in the basement that had all my old Amiga disks. What better place to store it? |

It's great to hear you have it running. The Catweasel actually works more reliably when given its own dedicated floppy drive, and that's how you have it set up!
However, it must still be a relief to have found the accessories. |
