A1200 HD help please...
Hi folks, after MANY years of not owning real hardware and using WinUae I was gifted a 500, a 1200 and two monitors amongst many other things.
The A1200 has a HD in it as I heard it spin up and when I boot Workbench I can see it but I thought you could autoboot it at turn on? The HD is all prepped and has workbench on but I seem to remember my old 1200 booting the HD directly without needing a floppy. What am I not doing right please Its a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I've played with the real kit... Thanks Paul.. |

Make sure the priority for that partition is high enough, and is set to bootable (on early start up menu, if you check the devices, it should have a priority lower than the floppy but higher than zero)
You should replace that ageing hard drive with a compact flash card though. |

AH, thank you...
As for the CF, its a nice idea but apart from a play here and there I doubt I'll be back in to it as much as I used to be. Having said that, if there's one at a good price I might reconsider.. We will see... Thank you for the help.. |

Compact Flash cards cost next to nothing. A 1GB card and an adapter will probably set you back less than 10 quid.
