Eyetech EZVGA SD/FF + TFT monitor: Chances of success?

own various classics, the above SD/FF, and have been able to locate a TFT with the following attributes:

46-76 Hz, Vertical Frequency (analog mode)
24-85 kHz, Horizontal Frequency (analog mode)
(The PDF docs do not advise 'timing conditions' within a specific range, or 'signal levels; unlike some I have seen).

The recommended resolution is a 16:9 ratio;
The manual, however, states a range of different ratios which are automatically recognised and will appear properly sized and centered; (albeit the bonafide 'VESA' timings, I assume).

Interestingly a number of HD video formats and ratios are listed here including, not only 50Hz timings, but even 15.6 kHz video.
As these are outside the stated analogue frequency support, perhaps these relate to the optional DVI port.
As an aside, are members able to cast any light on whether a DVI-A signal and an adaptor on the end of a VGA lead would allow the use of these input modes.
These would even eliminate the need for the SD/FF for lower resolutions.

HDTV resolutions are stated to require optional HDCP, (HD Content Protection).
It is stated that the lack of this feature, or an analogue VGA connection, results in a resolution that is "less" than HDTV.
(Not sure whether or not this would be an issue for PAL resolutions anyway; but wondered if this would make the monitor more fussy about the nature of the DVI signal, (analogue Vs digital).

Many thanks in advance for your knowledge/experience of the above.

Try the monitor using only a "silver" adaptor (that 23 to 15 pin VGA adaptor) directly hooked to the monitor.

Changes are you will don't need the scandoubler.
