I'll trade you my 3.0 for your 3.1 if you're up to that!

I take it you have put them in the correct sockets . also I will imagine the chips are old eproms used by Amigakit and my have oxidisation on the chip legs, carefully one at time pull them up and down 1/2 a dozen times to clear the scum, see if that helps.
If after the above still not working throw them back at Akit

The A1200's ROM sockets have two more receptacles than the number of pins on the ROMs.

You must insert the ROMs each leaving two empty receptacles on the left hand side (i.e., at the PCMCIA end).

And Pin 1 of each ROM (marked with a small indented dot) aligns with the second receptable from the left at the front edge of the socket.

3.0 ROMs are definitely intended for A1200?
I noticed on the box that the ROMs are for
specific models ie. A4000, I don't know what happens if you mix them.

A4000D roms work fine in an A1200. Just no SCSI driver for A1200.

From what your describing they sound fried. Definitely putting 514 in U6B and 513 in U6A?
