What kind of expansion board is that ?
Does somebody know what expansion board this is ? There's no label on it (except the colossus stickers on both sides). Thanks for your help!

Looks like a rebranded 3-state Megamix Zorro 2 Ram expansion.

Remove the stickers, pcb printed reference may be underneath it. But looks like Zorro 2 ram expansion for sure.

Thanks for the answers. I searched for the chips on the board (HYB514256B-60) and they are indeed memory chips...
How much capacity has one chip when the chip description is as follows: "256 K X 4-bit Dynamic RAM Low Power 256 K X 4-bit Dynamic RAM" Is that the same than 256x4 bit = 1024 bit = 128 kB ? Btw. I removed the two labels named "Colossus", but the imprint underneath was rasped away ... |

That's correct. Since it has all 16 chips, it has 2 megabytes of RAM installed.

I think Colossus was a computer shop in UK.

Yes it is. The photos are identical.
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/megamix It has 2MB fitted and can take another 6MB to give 8Mbytes total (via six 1Mx8 30-pin SIPP sticks). 1Mx8 SIPP memory modules seem to be quite rare ($15+ each on eBay) but I believe that you can either : 1) Desolder the SIPP socket and fit a 30-pin SIMM socket. 2) Solder a pin-strip to a 30-pin SIMM edge connector. Both practices were widely done to Atari STe / TT which could also come with SIPP Last edited by alexh; 29 December 2014 at 17:02. |

I'd probably go for option 2 with some machined pin strip. :-)

Like attached?
And use machined pins as suggested....the square pins wont fit the machined pin sockets! I bought some pins strips with square pins...lined up perfectly with the simm and socket...but.... |

Erm... Square peg, round hole guys. They don't fit. You need machine tooled (I.e. round) pins. Like the Voyager_1701e shows in his photo above. Last edited by alexh; 31 December 2014 at 00:58. |
