ZX Spectrum Emulator
Hi, I hope you are all healthy.
I use ZXAM on my miggys for many years now and I have to say that it's awesome as it runs perfect on my 030/50. Unfortunately there is no 128K support but hey, I've found CBSpeccy_v027. This runs smoothly but with a catch, for me and a friend at least. While it loads TAP files fine, it freezes when the game starts after the menu screens. Two games worked fine but 10+ I've checked have that issue. Thanks in advance, Dimitris. |

The best zx spectrum emulator is ASpEmu, 0.75 verion runs smoothly on a 030.
Latest version needs a 060 |

The main Amiga for the moment is my 030.
My 040/25 is not here with me. Thank you, I'll dig that version from somewhere . |

btw, according to ASP docs it need at least a 040/33 mhz + mmu for full spectrum speed
so I doubt it will work gently on a 030 |

I red that too but it was on the latest version. Maybe the old one will run fine.
Indeed, a link here would be much appreciated cause I can't find it. |

Thanks! Hope you are as well.
My, this is a pretty hefty requirement, are there any emulators which give good results with a slower CPU? |

ASp does not require 060. It works on 030 and 040 machines too. If a game uses AY chip very often it slows emulation down on 030 CPU (no problem with 040).

Thank you Dany and people.
There are a few that run full speed on 030, I will test them all today and report back. |

a 030 /50mhz double the speed of a 030/25 mhz the difference in speed of both is huge also ASP requires a MMU which some 030 do not have ZXAM emulator yet is the best emulator for 020 and 030 excepting does not emulate 128k games but emulates the 128 music for example it can tun the game enduro racer with 128k music Last edited by Misclegend; 25 April 2020 at 10:37. |

Indeed, I have the blizzard model with 60ns RAM.
I've tested some 50ns once and got better results with AIBB. Probably the closest to this are the ACA 42MHz models with faster RAM. |

I found a great page on Amiga France with details of Speccy emulators and system requirements:

Fantastic page!
So I tested all the emus I've got. 030-100% ASpEmu0.75 Speccylator v1.0 Speculator ZXAM Spectrum CBSpeccy Slow: ZX-Live Spectrum128 X128 Couldn't run specemu As for ASpEmu, it runs great with some slowdowns from here to there. I spotted another issue though, some games have flickering sprites like Rod-Land and Retroforce. Thank you. |

I've tested all emus and I think that Asp is the best one for me.

X128 with an 060 and graphics card is the best. I may or may not be biased
