FS-UAE on Linux, two monitors and UAEGFX modes
I run FS-UAE on Linux machine (XUbuntu if it is important) with two monitors connected. Primary display is 1920×1200, secondary 1920×1080. I wanted to run FS-UAE fullscreen on the secondary monitor using UAEGFX driver.
I've learned that in case of UAEGFX one does not use P96Mode, as list of modes is autogenerated based on host screenmodes. Unfortunately there is no 1920×1080 mode available. However there is 960×540, and weird things like 1344×1080. Both work, however I would prefer native display resolution and using the whole screen area. Of course Linux has no problem with displaying 1920×1080 on my secondary monitor. What should I do to get UAEGFX 1920×1080 mode on the mode list? |

Well, I've found a workaround. I've set my smaller 1920×1080 monitor as primary in Linux, and set Linux screenbar and desktop icons to display on secondary (bigger) monitor. This time UAEGFX has 1920×1080 mode on its list. However 1920×1200 disappeared.
In my opinion UAEGFX should offer native resolutions of all monitors connected to the system plus halved (or maybe also divided by 3 and/or 4) sizes, instead of weirdos like 1344×1080 or 672×540... |

Yes, and it should be possible to create your own Resolutions in either Picassomode or in fsUAE settings.
I have a Laptop with an insanly high resolution plus a weird aspect ratio. Because of the high resolution i would like to use a lower resolution screen for the Amiga but all the availible modes have different aspects, thus leves me with black bars on top/bottom or left/right. There must be a way to create custom Screenmodes in Linux, but that involves too much tinkering and i could never find out how to do that ever since Linux started to create them automatically. Back in the days i could create them in xfree86.conf...even back then it was a nightmare to me to try this, but nowadays i couldn't find out either? |
