analogic cd32 drive pop and smoke

earlier my analogic drive would not read floppy discs after moving consoles about.
i decided to open it and see if anything had come loose with the floppy connectors.
i must have not connected something properly when reassembling because when i turned it on i got a pop and smoke situation.
the cd32 seems to be ok.
when inspecting the analogic drive i can see a swollen blown cap on the long thin board which is inside the top of the unit next to the floppy drive.
does anyone know how i can check to see if there is any other damage to the unit?
maybe replacing the blown cap will fix the drive.
i'm was going to install a gotek in it.
