Cannot create CD32 image

Hello again guys,

here it goes: I simply cannot create on Windows, a working (on WinUAE, haven't got the real thing anymore ) CD32 backup image file. Direct-from-cd images (C.CD-Nero) work just fine on WinUAE, but I want to extract the audio files with EAC, to preserve highest possible quality.
Assuming the .iso format isn't suitable for mixed-mode, I try to create a compliant .ccd or .nrg mixed-mode ISO9660 CD image with UltraIso/Nero, putting together the data track and the EAC audio files, however the resulting image won't boot at all.
Is this a file-system restrictions setting I'm getting wrong? Tried lots of combinations...

I don't understand what you want to make, but you can't make bootable CD32 disc using Windows. Read this thread - http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38435

I'm trying to make an image of an existing CD32 game (not custom compilation etc.), but with its audio files extracted with EAC, and not the cd-copy applications such as Nero. This means I will have to re-create the image from scratch (combining the data and audio tracks), instead of just copying everything.
Thanks, I'll read that but I'm not sure if "CD32.TM" etc. is necessary for this... Is it??

This sounds really overly complicated... What are you actually trying to do here? Backup a physical CD32 disc to an iso file? Nero should be able to do this for you without you having to split the audio and data. Or are you trying to add a trainer/intro/data to a disc that already has CD audio? If so, I'm afraid that's way beyond my ability!

This file is there, when you've done the Data track ISO with your dumping tools. There is a TOSEC CD ISO dumping guide somewhere.

Oh, and if creating any CD32 disc that you hope to boot, you will HAVE to use the official C= dev tools mentioned in the link above to insert CD32.TM or CDTV.TM into the boot block/header of the CD/ISO.

Now I understand and as Retro-Nerd already said you have TM file in data track. I used Fireburner to burn data+mp3 discs, it's said in this thread - http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=12022

Exactly! Nero does that (.nrg file though, not .iso), but the way Nero rips the audio files isn't quite perfect, so I want to rip the audio files separately, with Exact Audio Copy (EAC, probably the best in audio-ripping).
Since EAC cannot handle the data track, I'm forced the re-create the image file. Again, probably not in .iso format since I'm not sure it can handle CD32 titles properly.

Not trying to add anything at all, just replace the audio files with the same ones, ripped with another application.

Which format are the Audio files after you ripped them with EAC?

Wav, what else. Use this guide and all should be ok.

http://wiki.toseciso.org/guide

btw: this is only for perfect rips. All Bin/Cue, CCD etc dumps are working too, without any issues.

Yes, .wav.

Retro-Nerd, it's an interesting guide, but from a quick read, I don't see an image creation section.
I can easily combine the data and audio tracks with ImgBurn for example, to burn a CD, that's not a problem.
The problem is, the image file creation. I'll check Fireburner out, though.

Guess the cuesheet generation with EAC is the most interesting part of it. Good luck later wanderer

Thanks CyberDruid, I'm close, but not there yet...
I have the cdrwin .bin file (of no use, I guess), I have the Fireburner .iso file (which works, but is audio-less of course), and both .cue files from cdrwin and EAC. And... that's it. I don't know how to create an image file containing both data/audio tracks.
Am I supposed to edit the EAC .cue file? Tried to include the Fireburner .iso file in there, but the .cue file won't mount at all.
The guide goes on with: "ClrMamePro (to create a .dat file of extracted tracks", but I'm really stuck here...

You don't need the ClrMamePro part (it's only for TOSEC) and yes, you need to edit the EAC cue file, so that it includes the iso. Maybe you can attach the two cue files and your merged one, so we can have a look

I haven't read all of the TOSEC guide. But you can always put the standard ISO data track + the EAC Wav tracks into a folder and use the Sega Cue Maker to create a new .cue file. This ISO+WAV is mountable then.

I cannot mount any of these files, always get an error with MagicISO.
A couple of these cues (can't remember which), contained this line: "TRACK 01 MODEx/20xx"

Changing it to "TRACK 01 MODE1/2048" didn't help.

Have you made it like this?

Quote:
Just rip the complete CD to a bin/cue file with CDRWin in non-raw mode (deselect the checkbox 'raw').

Hmm, I didn't make any extra conversion, it is the .iso file Fireburner extracted from the cdrwin .bin image.

edit: Yes, I unchecked the raw option in cdrwin.
