Cool Min. and Max. modulo values?

Hi, just a cool small question: What are the minimum and maximum values for the bitplane modulo?

they are signed 16 bit words, and any value stored there will be added.

Oh, that's quite much! I am developing a bitplane-viewer and am going to add a slider to adjust the modulo. Now, that slider potvalue must be translated into a modulo and I won't use the full possible value as then already a little move of the slider knob adds or susbtracts too many. what would be a good min/max for the slider? so that practical use of the modulo in demos is supported?

If you want to cover all cases then you would need a maximum in the thousands, but a range from 0 to 320 will cover most, if you consider both interleaved and non-interleaved bitplanes.

Sure? A superhires bitmap with 256 colors and interleaved bitplanes would have a modulo of 1120.

Yeah but that's exactly what I wrote, that you may need a modulo in the thousands to cover all and rare cases. I think the slider is only for convenience, so it would only have to cover the most common cases. (there's probably an edit-field as well)

I dunno how I can separate the edit field from the slider because the field should show the scroller value and the scroller should visualize the field value.

Beside the modulo slider I have a vertical scroller to scroll through the file or memory. That one has the file/memory size as MAX, the current offset as POT and one line of 40 bytes + modulo as BODY. In the other direction, I use the scroller POT as offset. When I klick under or above the knob, the 'picture' moves one line down or one line up. This is correct. But when I drag the scroller knob, the picture does not only move vertically but also horizontally. How can I make it so that when scrolling the scroller the pic also moves only vertically?
