Anyone with eprom burner in Australia?
Need v7 for A590. DMAC is -01 so can't use GURU ROM. I've got the dumps and can probably dig up some 27c64 as well. Usually some on ebay but would rather not ship internationally as if that is the case I might as well buy a burner and do it myself... Let me know when, where and how much, thanks.

Hi RichardM,
Where are you? I'm in Sydney (lower north shore) if that helps. Can do 8/16 bit EPROMS, FLASH, etc. etc. Cheers, Red |

Thanks for the speedy responses. I'm in Melbourne so will give Paul a call tomorrow as I was looking at purchasing either a Willem 5.0 or a GQ-4X if need be so this sounds perfect.

I too am doing a A590 v7.0 upgrade in Sydney, but don't have the eprom programmer, looked at both the Willem or GQ-4X.
Can I just rip out the old ROMs and wipe then reprogram ? Or should I just get a new set of 27c256 chips from ebay ? All up with eraser, programmer, eproms, adapters, etc I'm looking at around $200 for the equipment, not sure if it will ever be used again. Then I'd need to find a suitable drive plus adapter and short scsi cable. Is North Rocks computer markets any good for this type of stuff ? So just looking at other extremely cheap/free options like begging/pleading with someone to just flash my existing eproms to v7. |
