Ultima VI: The False Prophet Amiga Game Map

Strike up Rule Britannia and book your trip through a moongate to see Lord British in the town of Britain!

Ultima VI: The False Prophet, one of the most difficult Amiga mapping projects, has been completed using both Maptapper and a custom program written by mapping maestro clenched. clenched also created a proper tile and object set which is somewhat tricky to rip. Producing the final map required a lot of manual fixes.

The Britannia world map is built from 16x16 tiles which are combined into 128x128 chunks. The chunks are further combined into sixty four 2048x2048 sections. On top of this there are multiple layers for all the world objects.

Britannia is a rather large 16,384 x 16,384 image. Ultima VI was notable for including a single scale map where previous Ultimas had multi-scale with a zoomed out world map and zoomed in towns. Sadly The False Prophet was the last Ultima to appear on the Amiga. The sequel Ultima VII: The Black Gate on the PC took the open world concept even further.

More maps for the dungeons and the Gargoyle island are on their way but for now here is the map of Britannia: http://hol.abime.net/1795/gamemap
