Unfortunately, for the TOM adapter, the official ps3 controller does not work. I have a knockoff ps3 controller made by pdp, and that seemed to have partial recognition. Main fire was mapped to select, only the analogue stick worked, and other mappings were to weird buttons.

The Logitech wireless pads work great though, and I believe the Buffalo snes pad should work, but you may lose autofire (don't have one to test).

One thing to note about the TOM adapters:
I ordered a pair through eBay, and one was a dud. Shipping to mail it back to Poland for a replacement was $15
Other than that little snag, I'm happy with it.
