Here we are. The long awaited 'v1' of the
reInstallDDWC.cmd script is finally here .
As the previous versions, this script is intended to reinstall the
DamienD's WinUAE Collection from scratch.
It still also can be used to start the reinstall at a given pack (and forth) as well as onto a custom folder of your choice.
As before, ANSI escape sequence facilities are required from your command prompt window (install '
ANSIcon' if needed).
It has nevertheless some improvement over it's predecessor :
- for an unmatched user experience, it requires a command prompt windows of 80 columns and 42 lines ;
- except if DamienD remove a game from his Collection, only the required files present on a game folder are going to be deleted while a game is updated/renamed. To do so the script now takes care of the content of the update pack ;
- 'APC&TCP screenshots and config only' packs require that you validate their installation (you still then have to manually copy your digital downloaded file to the needed folder) ;
- if for some reason your WinUAE.ini file got corrupted, it is now possible to launch the script to recreate it* ;
- if you don't use the ini file, it's also possible to recreate the registry entries* ;
- WinUAE GUI's size is adapted to your screen resolution ! ;
- the installation status has been rethinked and now allow a better global view to follow the process ;
- three gorgeous hand drawn Amiga related ANSI-art now embellish your command prompt window during the reinstallation. A special and fourth one, hand drawn as well, is also present (DamienD related ) ;
- first run special message.
As previously, simply :
- copy the script in the folder where you actually have the DamienD's WinUAE Collection archives ;
- read the on screen texts.
Enjoy.
* to do so, when you invoke the script, input as second parameter either INI or REG
ex. : reInstallDDWC.cmd <drive> ini
Please note that if you generate the 'ini', registry entries will be deleted (and that the 'ini' file will be deleted if you generate the registry entries).
