I was hoping the 'virtual floppy' aspect might interest you, to replace all those failed floppy drives in all model amigas (And other computers). But looks like the creator of the PIC18F based SD virtual floppy has also been taken with the AT91SAM7S256 chip and is converting / upgrading his design to utilise it's extra grunt over the PIC18F MCU.
