Wrong and btw, I worked for Commodore in real life back then. The OS was available free of charge to ANYONE WITH the hardware. There were no fees or charges to replace bad copies or lost copies or anything else.
If you bought a machine, you got the OS. If you had a bad copy, you got a free copy to replace it. Commodore was not Microsoft. All updates were free to those with the hardware. PERIOD.
