Hi, I am also getting this 530 Login incorrect error... tried a bunch of MacOs clients, and even when trying to connect to the user info page via a browser (eg: change password), it fails.
The only thing that works - same credentials - is the integrated Finder FTP client, but only on the ftp2.grandis.nu address. Strangely, the same credentials do not work on ftp.grandis.nu (maybe I had already an account there? 
).
EDIT2: it seems now it's working. Not sure if I did something or it was fixed remotely... I suspect that Finder messed up with its keychain.
