It's best to use a HD of 4 Gb or less in the A1200 unless you are running IIRC AmigaOS 3.5 or 3.9.
Anything written over the 4 Gb mark wraps around and corrupts the 1st 4 gigs.

But basically, yeah any 2.5" IDE drive will do.
