I can't recall what Sandruzzo wrote about Rygar's DMA use, but it seems a logical conclusion.

As for 25FPS, well - it's still going to be considerably slower than 5BPL or 4BPL running at 25FPS. But sure, you might be able to create something nice with it that way.
