I've found it can be a mixed bag on older films. Some stills look better on standard DVD and vice versa.
A lot of it is marketing carp to maximise profits. I also have the feeling that less and less stuff will be transferred to Blu as to previous standard DVD format unless the demand is there
Some films I'm after are yet to be released to standard
I'm waiting for UHD when it comes mainstream. 4280P!
