Where in IRC are you, boss? I'm there, I just checked! Look at the top IRC widget too, I'm there :P 24/7 exactly! I have a Raspberry Pi connected to it constantly, to which I SSH.
If you open up an alternative chat channel to IRC, people will go there instead.
Actually, those not on IRC already would probably not get in it, especially with the alternatives.
