The oven in this instance is just being used to dry the boards, every second it updates from the thermocouple and if it senses 38 degrees or below it fires up the elements for 15 seconds. The sequence is wait 128 seconds - take reading - set flag if required - fire elements if flag set - wait 128 seconds etc. No timer is incorporated currently but I could program one in easily enough, board is never going to suffer any detrimental effects at 40 degrees and I got a bit lazy to incorporate a counter on the display.

I need to replace the oven's existing elements with probably infrared heaters instead, the heating phase is taking too long on lead free reflow, seems ok for normal leaded pcb, it's just for my own prototypes.
