Thanks for your suggestion. It is very likely that someone has installed a back up HD and found the same problem. It may be that the original Connor HD blocks access to the new solid state device because of its jumper configuration. If so a picture etc would not be necessary, just a better knowledge of the system. I was hoping to transfer the contents of the existing HD easily, but clearly this is not to be so simple.
