I think most old games display chunky pixels and sprites on LCD screens. It happens with my Amiga's, Megadrive, Snes and all my other old systems. The only old system i have that still looks great on an LCD screen is my Neo Geo (but still looks better using an old CRT screen

).

Don't forget back then most people were using 14" CRT screens with their Amiga's and other old computers/consoles.
