Sold wick and a £20 (paint stripper) hot air gun...

i would recomend a small custom built nossel for the gun (i believe that a coke can or similar could be used / beaten to shape *this was mentioned too ) )

However a small solder re-work station would do wonders for a small investment. ebay prices have gone up recently so have a shop.. you should be able to get a decent one under £70.

If however you are lifting components i would recomend a copper rod or similar to place onto them and absorb the heat generated by the hot air desoldering unit.
