The amiga was the last of the traditional home computers, spectrum, c64s etc. Computers that had all the "guts" inside the keyboard was SO 1980s! When you "upgraded" your amiga for the majority it meant buying a new computer. With the PC it meant buying a new gfx card or ram. Also, microsoft dont own PCs, they just own the operating system. So it was commodore Vs the world and they just didnt have the money or the ability to realise that the future was (at the time) about upgrading every few months as the pc went from 286mhz to 486 then 333 then up and up at the rate of a new spec every month. The amiga just went from an 68000 processor (amiga 500) to the 68020 processor (amiga 1200). The difference in speed and power was minimal so they just were left behind in the electronics revolution.
