the locked door symbolizes the door you entered the level. You can't go there.
(I don't remember this particular case, but you'll notice that in all start of levels there's a locked door, except in the first level where you arrive by boat)
Yeah!! I love this game. We've been blessed by 3 demo levels + 5 regular levels + 4 payoff levels. Hard as nails too.
