That's strange but never tied running it in full screen mode for this. MAME must handle it differently somehow.
I did try looking at the latest version of MAME to create a PR for this but had issues getting it to build under Windows. Unfortunatly I don't have much free time at the moment so will come back to this sometime in the future.
