Is that a real 8 way scrolling routine or are you just holding all the map data in memory as a bitmap and scrolling around it (i.e. Does it blit in the tiles when needed?)

It blits the tiles in X direction when needed, so the width of an level can be really huge. Vertically there is a maximum of 4 screens at the moment. I spent some hours of trying a full 8 way scrolling a year ago but always got stuck with some nasty bugs, perhaps I will give it another shot soon.
Otherwise I am quite happy with the routine as it is now because it works flawlessy with a lot of objects on screen, more than I thought I could handle. :-)
PS: Didn't I already send you a playtest copy some weeks ago?
