PCMCIA SCSI interface with SCSI CDROM should work.
I have IDEFIX adapter in my A1200 with internal slim CDROM. It does require case cutting.
There is also a IDE split cable with CDROM case that I sold few years ago by DATAFLYER? I forgot exact name.
