To give some background: We created UHC Tools as a simple way to keep a collection of tools between us two authors up-to-date. With time the collection grew and powerful things like the searchers (aminetsearch, fishsearch, whdsearch etc) was added and we thought that other people most certainly could benefit from it, so we released it publicly.
A few of the tools have made it to aminet (
sntp and
NoClick). Some of the best tools IMHO, like the searchers, depend on so many parts/tools in UHC Tools that it would not be be possible to release separately without a major redesign. Also, this would cut them away from the super-convenient update distribution via uhcupdate. Many tools though have an obvious use outside of UHC Tools, no dependencies on other parts/tools and are reasonably mature - for example
aget and
SynergyClient would make sense to release on aminet, but we have simply not come around to it.
