PFS3_AIO has it's own maxtrasfer safe guards now, so you should be safe.
The same is true with 3.1.4 FFS implementation and SCSI device
But if you still use old 3.1 roms, have the first partition on any bootable media within 2GB and you should not have any issues on booting.
