I have always thought of LZ as using [offset,length] pairs - typically adding up to 16 bits - but I guess I should think of it as [length[,offset]]

All those tricks should work on the Thomson TO8 that has the same display chip AFAIK - and the much cooler 6809 cpu. I have one, but it is more for collecting (still haven't tried powering it up...)....
