I was looking at the manual again, there is a LCD power connector which supplies 12v and 3.3/5v. See if you can see the voltage.

I noticed your SBC does not have external power, so it may be difficult to troubleshoot w/o Amiga.

I had a battery damage on my A2000, black screen and nothing else.

To fix it, I reflowed the solder on all surrounding area, and replace the cpu socket.
Worked fine after that.

I would recommend using an Amiga with Graphics Card support, so you can use higher screen resolutions with more colors.
The new upcoming A1200 Vampire card might work, or PiAmiga on other 68000...

So, if you have a VGA to BNC RGB cable it should work. The only problem I see is Sync.

Trace the return key to both pins on the ribbon cable, then trace those positions to corresponding pins on ic chip. Short the pins momentarily while your keyboard test...

Did you try ALL keys, like F keys, del, Help etc?

I would try a keyboard test program to see if other key are working.

Use schematics to check low outputs from Paula, if good, check the LF347 outputs, there are 2 per channel, if BAD, check if LF347...

I think using serial would be easier using PPP connection (if this device supports it).

On A1200 it's easier to get on internet and faster using PCMCIA port.

Maybe you can consider Gotek drive, virtual disk drive, uses USB and ADF floppy images.
