I gave up and bought a wired card, too many hoops to jump through with wireless, so got 2 origo gold or whatever theyre called in a cupboard somewhere. The wired 3com just works out of the box.

Back in the day I used to use my mums nail varnish remover, amazingly it never damaged the disks, just used to use it on a cotton wool ball and all the glue would come off.

What happens if you put the cd card into a card reader on your pc, run diskpart and list disks, does it show up, if so, use select (disk number) and then clean, make sure its the sd card as it wipes...

Does it Have a ram expansion? anything over I think 5.5mb can conflict with the pcmcia which can cause issues?
Accelerators with 030s are usually ok as they map ram to avoid the conflict.

CF in the pcmcia is faster, Ive got a 3com 589D and using amitcp I get a few hundred kb/sec at best, where I get over 1mb/sec from a cf card in the pcmcia slot, soits generally just quicker to copy...
