captain blood titlescreen music, elusive
Captain Blood, mod, got it from http://www.exotica.org.uk/tunes/unexotica/ , someone gave me direct download link... (I forget it now)
this is what I got, loaded these files into Deliplayer: RH-CaptainBlood RH-CaptainBlood.dum <-- skips every 2 secs, stops playing ~2.30 mins RH-CaptainBloodFX RH-CaptainBloodFX.dum rather annoying... game is not listed under title, or composer (jarre or michel jarre), or under "all files" sigh... I have the Ethnicolor MP3 by Jarre, but I want the mod. I also download ST SNDH collection, not there. anyone know where I can get working version of both amiga and ST rendition? please, none of this youtube... cheers. |

Presumably you got the tune from here: http://www.exotica.org.uk/tunes/page...Hubbard-2.html
The reason it doesn't play properly is because the replayer is screwed, the one you need is the Infogrames player from UADE or DELIX. Annoyingly, Exotica have the source code but I can't find the binary anywhere on their site. I've attached a copy which should be dropped into the AmigaPlayers directory of your DeliPlayer install. The tune is supposed to loop just after the 2 minute mark that's why it stops, ignore DeliPlayer's bogus length of 4 minutes because that's just a cut-off time the program uses to prevent itself from playing silence in the absence of a tune end or loop command. RH-CaptainBloodFX.dum as the name implies is just the audio triggers for the sound effects, there is apparently no valid pattern data so trying to play it results in silence. If you want to retrieve the samples then the ins files are just PCM audio, 8 bit, signed, 8000Hz, mono, any decent audio editor will allow you to chop them into pieces. |
Ah, thanks for the response. I copied that file into the relevant directory and instead of skipping every two seconds, the music simply didn't play:
"is not a known music/sound file". After removing it from the directory, the music played again, skipping as normal. I don't know much about this stuff, so I could be doing something wrong. |
How about recording the title track to WAV/MP3 via WinUAE?

Sorry oneshotdead, I'd forget my head if it wasn't firmly attached :)
As well as copying the new player you also have to remove the broken one before DeliPlayer will recognise it correctly so go back to the DeliPlayer2\AmigaPlayers directory and delete (renaming is not enough) the file RobHubbard_2. |

OddbOd, yeah, I tried renaming RobHubbard_2, just in case of conflict, it didn't work, deleting it did work.
Thank you! :bowdown |

I also deleted the RobHubbard-thingy and extracted the Infogrames file into the AmigaPlayers directory. But when I simply try to play it with Deliplayer it says 'C:\Captain_Blood.lha' was identified as 'Play680x0' but is invalid. When I put the RobHubbard-things back in the AmigaPlayers directory, it says: 'C:\Captain_Blood.lha\Captain_Blood\rh2.blood.dum' was identified as 'Play680x0' but is invalid. What can I do? |
To be honest, the title music is just a bad sampling job of a bloody great track from Jarre's finest album

Aha, I recognize that from Destination Docklands (I was there on the rainy first night). But are you sure Ethnicolor was the track in the sample ?
[edit] ahhhh Wikipedia. Stripped down Ethnicolor. |
