The Bard's Tale - Tales of the Unknown, saving game???
 

Sorry for my ignorance but I never played TBT before current WHDLoad version 1.4 ;)
The simple question is: how/when does the game save? Automatically at certain check points or just when quitting with the Quitkey?

Characters are saved when you remove them (or choose "Leave game") at the Adventurer's Guild. You will then also need to quit out of WHDLoad to ensure the files have actually been written out.

So the only place where I can save current game is at Adventurer's Guild?
Is the initial AG the only one on the map?

Yes to both.

Caused a lot of hassles when others suddenly wanted to use the Amiga, I would have to try to quickly run back out of whatever dungeon I was in and back to the guild... :-/

The game also zeroes all the party gold in character files when you leave the guild, and only writes it back when you return. So if you are forced to reset during adventure, you will have 0 gold after reboot.

Aaargh... that's crazy! :(
