Lotus 2 & 3 A1200 versions

I have been loking everywhere for an A1200 version of Lotus 2 and 3. All the .adf's I've found are the A500 version and the hdload version, takes ages to load and doesn't run at full speed (in game).

I know that Magnetic Fields created an A1200 version for these two games because, way back when, I bought Lotus Triolgy and sent the disks back to Gremlin to get the A1200 versions.

A1200 version of lotus 3 is something special, it runs at full speed in two player.

Please, please someone help, I don't mind ADF, copies or originals.

There are no 1200 specific versions of any of the Lotus games..

The disks you received may have been 1200 fixed!

Gremlin did release the Lotus Trilogy on the CD32 though again it was just the standard versions!

mattsell 08 August 2005 11:07

Yeah, I know they weren't AGA versions but I want the A1200 fixed versions. In game the A1200 fixed version ran the same speed in 2 player as the A500 version did in one player (i.e. no slowdown). The whdload version doesn't run at this faster speed :mad.

Bizarly the A500 disks work at the faster speed on a CD32 with SX-1, but don't work at all with an A1200.

Please someone help :help.

Lotus Trilogy was also released in a Disk version in which all work fine on a stock a1200 and I havent any issues with them on whdload either. Although older versions of lotus2 did have glitchy gfx in whd. lotus3 and lotus1 work great in whd.

Prehaps I have older verisons on whdload, or its due to your extra memory (fast ram) or accelerator card. I'll have to try another version.

Is the load speed on your whdload version really slow?

Thanks

Mad-Matt 08 August 2005 23:52

not at all, almost instant

mattsell 09 August 2005 01:07

I must have an old version then. Time to do a little internet searching me thinks!

Thanks! :great

Still no luck

After getting an 1240 with 16mb and trying Lotus 3 again, load times are now correct. But its still the A500 version speed, in game; the track looks like it moves backwards.

Really want the A1200 fixed version of the Lotus 3 disks, anyone please, please contact me!

SOS!

BippyM 29 August 2005 19:47

You'll find a lot of Amiga racing games (lotus style) look as though the track is going backwards!!

mattsell 30 August 2005 11:29

The A1200 fixed version was super smooth and didn't look like it was going backwards either. It was 1 Player speed in 2 player mode. The A500 version is fine in 1 player just slow in 2 player.

If someone thinks their version of WHDLoad or Lotus 3 on A1200, is the same frame rate in 2 player as 1 player. Please get in cotact.

Thanks

I know what he means, so will clarify.

There was a version that ran on A1200 which was AS FAST AND SMOOTH as CD32 Lotus 3 given out for use on A1200.

This is the fix he means, also the Lotus 3 Tosec ADF doesn't work and WHDLOAD one he has is the inferior "Atari ST graphics speed" ECS version fixed not to crash NOT the one I had from contacts (which is almost as fast as Lotus II on A500). May have been without music though just SFX IIRC.

Go look at A500 and CD32 Lotus 3 on youtube if you don't believe me, it is obviously faster.

Now does anyone have this improved version for A1200 as an ADF please?

CD32 version will not load on A1200 + CD says Amiga Format and I had this on disk 15 years ago.

Lotus III was fixed for a1200 / a4000 by Uk Divison / Ministry

I dont know, what the "Ministry" fixed version improves.
The unfixed version seems to work on an A1200 too.

Ebster 11 October 2011 09:27

Maybe you should try the "cache"tooltype in whdload
.

I remember playing Lotus II on my A500/060 I needed to remove all caches except instruction cache.

Hey hey hey, what !!!?? An A1200 "fixed"'version of lotus 3 running at the same speed than in 1 player mode ??? I never heard a such of thing. If it really exists well, ... WE HAVE TO FIND IT ABSOLUTLY !!!

Would you like to check it for yourself?
I am again to lazy.

Haha mai, ok mate i will do this today and will report the result :). What a surprise if this version is running at full speed !!

But is the fixed version we're taling about is this file located here ?

"Lotus III - The Ultimate Challenge (1992)(Gremlin)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr FLT - Crack Inc][f AGA][t +5]"

It is the version i transfered months ago to check precisely if the game could run at full speed in 2 players mode and unfortunatly, IT DOESNT. So, there is nothing to check if this is this file :(.

I read indeed now that the cd32 version in "Lotus trilogy" is known to run at full spped in 2 players mode... So logical question : would it be possible to rip the cd32 version (without the cd tracks of course) like it with some other games in order to make an ADF disk ? It would be REALLY interesting !

No, its different version, but its probably cache fixed version too.

Mmmm it sounds interesting, i don't know this version so. I am going to test it on my A1200 and report the result :). Is there a disk B by the way and if not which disk B has to be used with the disk A ? Thanks a lot mai !

Anybody tried the "TLC" version, if this version has the same issue?
