Amiga Shopper - Complete collection OCR

Amiga Shopper

Every issue of Amiga Shopper is available as torrent download link, after a scan and OCR marathon by fabwhack at:

http://retropdfs.wordpress.com/

Thanks should go to him for this (and any of you who can afford it - send him a thank you donation, a new scanner will probably have to be bought soon as the one used is probably worn out)

Fantastic stuff :D

Trouble is the magazine torrents are on the p*ratebay site so it's a no go area through my BT connection... :-(

D'you mean you can't download the .torrent file?

Peter 28 January 2013 00:09

Yes, when I click the link to download the torrent it seems like it is taking my browser off to the PB site and I get a message saying error - site blocked ( I read that BT has blocked it)

By the way - what's a magnet torrent?

Guess I could check some other torrent sites to see if they have it listed - be quite good to have those Amiga Shopper mags...

prowler 28 January 2013 00:10

PM me your email address, and I'll send you the .torrent file. :)

Peter 28 January 2013 00:19

Cheers Mr.P - Pm on it's way...

prowler 28 January 2013 00:31

email sent! :great

Good luck! :D

Peter 28 January 2013 01:34

Got the file Prowler - cheers!

Downloading fine via utorrent and then my virus software reports a virus called js/Heur on issue 35 - I cancelled the download - will try again tomorrow, weird it should have a problem with issue 35..?

prowler 28 January 2013 23:06

That's strange... I've not heard of a .PDF triggering a virus alert before! :shocked

I hope you can find a way round that, mate. :)

ptyerman 29 January 2013 06:55

Downloaded it yesterday and read the preview and issue 1, great stuff.
I get no virus alert Peter, just did a manual scan using Avast and nothing came up.

Rather than using a torrent that takes forever to download (15 days for me it says) due to only having 3 seeders at the time of writing, why not send your hard work to archive.org?

They already have complete collections in PDF etc. for CU Amiga and many other retro mags:
