Caesar Deluxe
It looks like the original Caesar has a WHDLoad install but not this updated version of the game. Maybe you would be able to take a look at this one Psygore? :)

do you have the diskimages ?
|
No I don't. Maybe someone else here does though?
|
I acquired amiga original two-disk version of Caesar Deluxe. However, both disks are affected by the "Lamer Exterminator 2" bootblock virus :banghead.
Luckily files on the disks are intact :spin. I would like to repair both of the bootblocks with Virus Executor's - Kill virus function. Is there anyone else having the original one or two disk version of Caesar Dlx to confirm which exact version of bootblock it has? When I will sort this out I might be able to provide original disk images for the purpose of WHDLoad installer. |
I bought an original off ebay but disk 1 has been overwritten with disk 2.
Does anyone else have an original version of Caesar Deluxe? |
Interesting, never heard of the deluxe version. One of the reviews on HOL says it can be used with that other Impression game Cohort for more immersive battles. I wonder if that could also be included in the WHDLoad install.

I can't believe that not a single person on the EAB owns Caesar Deluxe! Anybody?
|
Yes this is really surprising, hope it surfaces soon !!

Cohort II installer has option to integrate with original Caesar, effectively making it Caesar Deluxe.
Cohort II does have SPS available, so WHDification of this combo would be nice. |
Caesar deluxe is not an Amiga exclusive. It was also released on PC in 1996, it is the US version (v1.4 1996)

Caesar Deluxe is Amiga only and maybe not official release. Mobygames report that exist only Caesar for Amiga, PC and ST.
in the left Caesar; in the right Caesar Deluxe. There is some little difference during loading. Caesar is multi language (English, German and French). Caesar Deluxe only English https://i.ibb.co/YdCdyFd/caesar.png |
Impressions games were localised in french. This means that Caesar deluxe must exist in french :)

@Seiya
video PC US version 1996: https://youtu.be/ymDAByr3Y0I @dlfrsilver now it is localized (only amiga version) :) |
you write "1996", but in the video is clear that it is 1992 version, so the original "Caesar". DOS version is release in 1992 as video show.
Deluxe could be also a marketing name...It is not the first time that some publishers rename a game in the Cover or in some adverts, but not in the game title. In this case a different intro and game options, but the game is exactly the same. |
The author of the video was wrong. He didn't have to research the game and didn't know there were two versions. In the video it is clearly version 96.
In the GOG archive for PC, they include the two versions. I tested and the second is identical to caesar deluxe. Moreover in the amiga version, it is never displayed "deluxe" ... look message in gog forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/caesar_ser...i_and_cohort_2 |
i found some box image where is indicated on the box "Deluxe". Amiga Action review speaks about some Enhancement graphics and sound in Deluxe version, but i have some doubts.
PC Manual report DOS version is 1993, so this game could be another nice things to investigate :) Also to know in the end why only in the box is named "Deluxe" |
OK, for sure for Amiga, Deluxe seems the sequel, but more like a "DLC". Not so much improvement compared to first game.
PC version identical to Caesar Deluxe for Amiga is 1993 as reported by Manual that you can read here: https://manualzz.com/doc/53681126/ga...r-owner-manual In the bottom of document is indicated "1993 Sierra On-line" i think that Caesar is released for Amiga and ST only. DOS version is the same version of Caesar Deluxe for Amiga. |
