Guess The Screenshot - 2020

Rules:

01). Only 1 screenshot post at a time.

02). Winner is the only person who can post screenshots OR they can nominate another member.

03). Screenshots must be from Amiga (obviously) games only.

04). Screenshots can have a minimum shot size of 60x60 pixels (NOT ZOOMED/RESIZED). This also includes ensuring WinUAE is setup correctly (no scaling). Please ensure that you select a screensize of 320x200/256, Line doubling is off and lo-res is ticked.

05). Ridiculous shots (i.e not legible as a game) will be removed and the previous screenshot poster can have another go

06). Screenshot must be from a COMMERCIAL or well known PD release and can be from any part except the cracktro etc.

07). 5 Points for a correct answer, 1 point per day for the poster if his screenshot is not guessed (point is awarded after 24 hours from when the screenshot was posted).

08). League table will be kept in the post directly after this one.

09). Anyone posting screenshots when it's NOT their go will lose a point and the post deleted.

10). If a new game isn't posted within 24 hrs of getting the answer confirmed correct then the player forfeits their go and the previous player chooses who is next.

11). Only one guess per person per hour UNLESS somebody else guesses within that hour AND the poster has to say whether it is/isn't correct.

12). The player having posted the picture can post a tip at any time.

13). As a gentlemen's practice, if no answer has been provided for three days, the player having posted the picture may consider to provide a tip on the fourth day (and every fourth day counting from the last tip).

14). In order to keep the flame alive, if HOL's criterias are provided as tip(s), it should be considered that the search result when the tip(s) is inputted does not return more than 300 results.

15). Have fun.

Any rule breaks will result in the go being disqualified and a point deducted from score.

no, but not far....

It's the original 1991 FR release : "Lagaf' : Les aventures de Moktar (vol.1 La Zoubida)" ;)

great!! you can post new picture.

Vincent Lagaf' is a French comedian who is also a TV show presenter.
His name could be translated by 'vicent the blunder'

DamienD 02 January 2020 16:38

I don't think that's really fair CFOU!

The game is available in "English" and "French"; but using a game screenshot snippet from the lesser known the "French" version...

Only the Frenchies would know your screenshot.

ransom1122 was correct really with Titus The Fox: To Marrakech And Back.

Lagaf' tag don't displayed on Titus fox only on Moktar game!

but I am not the arbiter

malko 02 January 2020 17:23

After a quick check on both y@utube longplays, it appears that CFOU! is correct and that the "LAGAF" tag present in the picture to be guessed is only available in the game "Les aventures de Moktar" and not in the 'international remake' "Titus the fox".
Thus ransom1122 answer is not validated.

DamienD 02 January 2020 17:55

Yeah, but my point is that only French people would recognise the screenshot snippet posted from a game that only French players would ever play / know...

If the game is only available in French / German / Spanish / Italian then ok, but if a game has multi-language versions then...

IMHO; that's not really fair.

ransom1122 recognised the fence / pavement from Titus The Fox: To Marrakech And Back but never would have seen that exact graffiti :rolleyes

I did not want it to be controversial ...
I just thought it was fun to take a screenshot with part of the word Lagaf 'which gives AGA;)

DamienD 02 January 2020 22:22

Ok whatever... I don't make / contribute to the rules with these "Guess The Screenshot" threads...

Your go malko :agree

If we were to follow this same reasoning we would have to cancel the other images posted in previous years and whose games are only in German, Polish, etc.

Here is next :

02.01.2020 tip : there's a trap ... ;)
03.01.2020 tip : It's from an OCS PD game.

Anyway, knock your socks off guys... I don't really care; do what you think is "reasonable".

Final post from me in this thread :agree

ransom1122 02 January 2020 23:47

I checked all versions of titus the fox on hol as well including French. This is why I said it was Titus the fox.

Not only that the French version of Titus the fox on hol still doesn't have lagaf on the fence...
