An External Gotek with a Boot Selector
Hello!
Here's a little video I made about reusing an external floppy case with a Gotek, and using a boot selector to make it DF0. Perhaps others will find it useful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCUa6x2JX6w I understand there are numerous upgrades and firmware extras for the Gotek which I'm looking into now to enable things like write support. Great little device. |
I can't get any Bubble Bobble rom to work with this sort of configuration (but I am using FlashFloppy v1.0 instead of cortex firmware). Can someone else please confirm?

I'm surprised the old Cortex firmware is still in use, as it is buggy and not maintained for years now.

If you purchase an ACA500Plus, you can do this in the setup boot menu. I don’t know it does it without modifying the CIA chip, but it does. I wish I would have known this before I purchased the df0 boot selector, ruined an original CIA chip during the install, bought another, purchased a different boot selector with better pin outs, etc....
And the ACA500Plus does so so much more. I would advise everyone to purchase it and not to waste any time with a boot selector mod! |
