He's talking about this one

It looks a bit MEH to me.. Not enough Gritty colours more like colourful bubbly gfx like borderlands...

This remake doesn't have the same appeal as the original. Also, for some reason, I find the interface chosen was not the best for the type of game it was (is). If they had kept the same concept as Broken Sword (1 and 2) then it would have been a much nicer fit...

"anyone played it" - I wish, I can't travel into the future unfortunately so I'll have to wait for the official PC release date.

I'm definitely going to grab it. Who cares that it doesn't look exactly like the original game stylistically, it's a new game decades removed from the original.

TCD 05 July 2020 01:45

Huh, so Revolution is doing something else than Broken Sword. Wouldn't mind a Lure of the Temptress remake either.

jizmo 05 July 2020 08:16

I don't know .. Somehow these sequels, reboots and remakes all fail to captivate and capitalise on the aspects that made the original great, and take the franchise to a direction that seems completely wrong.

That being said, being a sucker for adventure games, if Beyond a Steel Sky has a half decent story going in for it (and works offline), I might pick it up for the next long flight.

You can play it now, its released on the Apple store since June 26 .. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/beyond...y/id1474849377

Beyond a Steel Sky

After 26 years the sequel to one of my all-time favourites 'Beneath a Steel Sky' has been released for the PC. I'll be buying it on pay day. Can't wait. :)

As a side note, this was originally a mobile game that was ported to PC.

Makes sense why it looks so bad then. :P

Looks pretty fine to me, nice cell-shaded style. I hope Gearbox contracts them to do Tales from the Borderlands 2 with it.

Never completed original one on Amiga... :( Something I might revisit at some point...

You should, it really is a great game. Up there with Monkey Island in my opinion.

CrazyPepsi 17 July 2020 23:46

ohh ya it is Apple graphiks is joey in the game ??

jb2815 18 July 2020 12:16

I bought it yesterday, when it was released on Steam. I played it through to the end all at once, about 11 hours worth. I enjoyed it, and thought it was a good follow up to Beneath a Steel Sky. Joey is in the game, as are a few other characters and locations.
