Arsenal FC (Thalamus) - Pics of unreleased game found for HOL!!!
Hi EAB peeps!
I've managed to unearth from some dusty archives and mouldy, moth-eaten records a few Amiga pics of unreleased footy game Arsenal FC. :cool Thalamus was supposed to release it in late '92, but it went into receivership. Unfortunately, Arsenal FC along with a bunch of other Amiga games (SUB, Nobby the Aardvark, Restrictor, Street Warriors, Delta Patrol) went down the gurgler at the same time, with Thalamus leaving behind not so much as a demo of any of the game titles to be savoured (or ridiculed, as the case may be!) by the Amiga masses. Curiously, the Arsenal FC titlescreen was in HAM6 format and previews said the game was going to include a lot of static HAM6 screens.......but I only found the one in the Thalamus archive I got the pics from. Anyway, I've updated the HOL entry of Arsenal FC, so have a looksy at the little-seen before pics of this Amiga game for yourself: http://hol.abime.net/3529 |
Shouldn't the game be marked as unreleased if it never came out?
|
Bah, just as well it wasnt released... ArsenaL? It should have been <InSERT FAVE CLUB Name> FC!!

Hell the Arse are just like ManUre.. all the "supporters" come from outside the area... my London club are very London based... (apart from that Aussie defender we have)... :-) Seriously tho.. no offence to the Arse-bandits :D |
Play up, POMPEY. POMPEY, play up!

In the Premiership there are five: Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham.
In the Chamionship there are three: Charlton, Crystal Palace and QPR. In League One there are two: Leyton Orient and Millwall. In League Two there are three: Barnet, Brentford and Dagenham & Redbridge. So in total that's 13 out of 92 clubs that are London-based (I'm sure someone will correct me if I've missed out any). I thought there was more than that but there you go. |

Pompey (aka Portsmouth FC) are the only Premiership team that matters. I got married there (the stadium) nearly a year ago to my GAWJUSS wife who is a huge Pompey fan. I never even tolerated football before I met her. My sports used to have to have a certain amount of violence and agression so boxing or rugby really.
COME ON, POMPEY! |
was there any demo available before?
at least i have found playable demo. |

Could you upload this please? |

I'd like to make some more screenshots for HOL. I'm sure a few football fans here wouldn't mind seeing how it plays either! ;) |

ADF is in the zone now. |
@mai
No worries about the delay! :) Huge thanks for the upload!! :great For the life of me, I just can't remember Scoopex releasing this demo. Wonder where they got it from because Thalamus never released any magazine coverdisk slideshows or playable demos. The pics I found for HOL a few years back were from a slideshow preview that I found on an obscure PD disk. Anyway, thanks again......now I can grab a few more screenshots for the HOL entry! |
...slightly off topic for this thread.
Anyone know how to get this "preview" working reliably in WinUAE? Using a standard "ECS Agnus (Cycle-exact) / KS 1.3 ROM / 512KB Chip & 512KB Slow RAM" configuration; the game will only start playing the music / get to the title screen 1 out of 10 times... Tried numerous different settings also but no joy; it's driving me crazy :crazy |
At least A1200 with FastRAM it works!

...that absolutely nuts though; this sort of "preview" requiring such a config!!! :nuts Anyway... |
