Answer is never. (Was it really serious question?)

Any user re-programmable (as in logic itself can be changed = it has a FPGA, microcontroller etc) board is out of the question or is more or less a computer on a board. It is not worth it at all.

Just use uaegfx or uanet.device or bsdsocket etc.

Old boards are interesting relics of days long gone :) IMHO thats the real point of emulating (old enough) hardware. And at least most of them have some unique software.
