The Poll is here Hall of Fame 1989
No messing about this time, here are the nominations. Happy voting.
Expect to spend ages just staring at the choises, I did |
Easiest vote I've cast yet! ;)
Great work Freaky; must have taken a while to type! |
Thats what cut and paste are for, but yeah it still took a while to do that. After much thinking I voted for Sim City, again I voted based on how much time I spent on it.

@Freakman
You know what I voted for as I do love girly looking platformers as you call them :D |

Rainbow Islands - the best platformer ever written.
What a great year 1989 was. Time to get that Stone Roses album out again... |

oh my! you have done a nice work! thanks FWW
|
Huge list and great job, FWW!
As usual, when there are so many titles it would be very difficult... Barbarian 2 -> A great sequel, much better than the first Battle Squadron -> On of the best SEU Beast -> Big piece of history, even if overrated Bubble Bobble -> Best game ever, but Amiga version isn't so good (IMHO) Future Wars -> Delphine's first hit Maniac Mansion -> Classic of the classics Kick Off -> Bugged but I spend on it soooo many hours with my friends!!! New Zealand Story -> Nice conversion Ninja Warriors -> Very nice conversion and music Rainbow Island -> This rocks R-Type -> Always loved this game Xenon 2 -> Stunning but overrrated This time is really too difficult... I'll think on it and I'll vote next week! :crazy |
TwinWorld because it deserves a vote at least. I am going to be the only one to cast it, but whatever! It was a nice platform game with a great atmosphere. :)
|
this was a tough one, but after careful consideration I casted my vote on Indy.
I just have to say that "twin world" is very underrated and it absolutely deserves to be mentioned, I loved that game! :xmas |

Now this was one tricky fucking vote. I really struggled to commit myself to one vote. But alas it had to be done for the sake of Mr Freaky.
I had 3 in my head, New Zealand Story, Rainbow Islands and R-Type. After much umming and arring I opted for R-Type. Rainbow Islands was an extremely close call though. After this vote freaky you can move on to the "Best Game of The 80's" :D |
close one for me, half way inbetween It Came from the Desert, and North and South... but then I remembered them cool little bonus train robbery stages, that nabbed first.... Both VERY original games, but the list was mighty fine - also thought about Indy Jones and Maniac Mansion, but... nah :-)
2player games are phun! |
Populous for me :D
|
I voted for BattleSquadron.. but was a hard decision against RainbowIslands.
|
Damn... Elite, Battle Squadron, Laser Squad, Rainbow islands.... It's hard to pick one..
I guess Ill keep with Elite |
It came down to 3: It came down .... ok no It came from the Desert, Kick Off and Blood Money. Kick off - fantastic - right Wolf, too buggy, out. Blood Money, perfection, 2-player, memorable soundtrack, but vote goes to It Came From The Desert for sheer amiga-game originality, atmosphere, haunting soundtrack and sexy nurse. Great list, amazing year, thanx Freakyweakywoo.
|
Even though I voted for Elite, I am really happy to see Battle Squadron leading the poll... :D
